I spent Christmas with a couple of friends from Calgary in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I am off to Panama tomorrow for New Years; I have never been in Central America for New Years, looking forward to it. I will write more about this trip when I get home. Thanks Josh from London Ontario for operating the camera for me.

This trip I met up with twelve friends and three new friends in Cuba last week, took 6 of them to Havana over night and lived with families they only met the morning we arrived we all had a great time, big time laughs with our new Cuban friends. I support the family homes (casa particular) $25.00 a room a night and private taxis, $60.00 to $80.00 one way Varadero to Havana, we spilt that 6 ways in an old 56 station wagon it is cheaper and we are supporting the Cubans own business. I like to spend time with the families, bringing them gifts and candies the smile on their faces are worth it. Never be surprised if they invite you to their homes, where else can you get a sea food, lobster and chicken dinner made for you for about $10.00 per person with a great family that appreciates your company.
Youtube Dinner with 6 friends in Havana, Cuba. Youtube Dinner in Varadero Cuba The past 6 years I have notice big changes in Cuba, Cubans are freer to talk to us tourist more than ever, they are tearing down the old decrepit buildings, renovating some nice older buildings all over Havana yes they do have internet there too. Cuba is where I love to take friends and strangers I meet in Cuba on tours to the small towns and Havana it is always their highlight of their trip to Cuba. Youtube My new friend Marcel looks like Mick Jagger. Youtube They are taking down the house next door. I heard today that Raul Castrol will attend the meetings of the Americas in Panama City in April; I want to be there for this historical event. I know they both read my blog back in February 14th 2013, I got a response from Barack Obama and on my twitter Raul Castro kind of responded. Good job Barack and Raul it sounds like the both of you are going to make this world a better place to live. |
About Me
I took an around the world trip on my own about 10 years ago. I started in Tahiti and then went to Cook Island, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Mexico and Brazil for carnival. It was too fast as I did all of that in three months. This time I am wide open with no plans except just wake up in the morning and end up somewhere else. The past few years I have been hanging out in Australia, Cuba, Mexico and Central America lots and it all has been amazing. I love it all and all the places I get to see and all people I get to meet.
